The Municipality of Foz Côa and the Côa Parque Foundation signed a cooperation agreement for the research, safeguarding and enhancement of the area’s archaeological heritage. The signing followed a technical visit to the Castanheiro do Vento archaeological site in Horta do Douro.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in scientific research, heritage enhancement, cultural programming, heritage interpretation and engagement, and the integrated promotion of the area. It provides for research projects, training activities, exhibitions, conferences, technical visits and interpretive trails, fostering an integrated understanding of the archaeological heritage and cultural landscape of the Côa Valley and the Upper Douro.
