João Paulo Sousa has served as President of the Board of Directors of Côa Parque – Foundation for the Safeguarding and Enhancement of the Côa Valley since 2 September 2025. The Foundation manages the Côa Museum and the Côa Valley Archaeological Park.

Appointed for a five-year term by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, João Paulo Botto Sousa previously served as a non-executive member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and as Mayor of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, a position he had held since 2021.
