“O Nosso Património” Project Received Two Distinctions in 2025

The “School Subject: Our Heritage” project, developed by the Côa Parque Foundation in collaboration with school clusters in the region, received two distinctions in 2025: a Certificate of Excellence at the “Mais a Norte” Awards and the Best Project award in the Accessibility category at the Iberian Heritage Awards.

At the “Mais a Norte” Awards, organised by CCDR NORTE, the project was a finalist in the “Norte + Criativo” category, in an edition that attracted 232 applications and selected 31 finalist projects.

Subsequently, at the 2025 Iberian Heritage Awards, the “OFCT – Our Heritage” school subject won Best Project in the Accessibility category for its innovative work and commitment to improving access to heritage.

Implemented across several school clusters within the Côa Valley Archaeological Park area and neighbouring territories, the project promotes knowledge and appreciation of local heritage, strengthening ties of identity, belonging and cooperation between communities and their territory.

These distinctions recognise the work carried out by the Côa Parque Foundation and the participating school clusters, highlighting the role of heritage education in bringing communities closer to their heritage and enhancing the value of the territory.
