Vale do Côa – Siega Verde: The art that escaped the caves

From the 29th of November, the exhibition “Vale do Côa – Siega Verde: L’art qui s’est échappé des cavernes” (“Côa Valley – Siega Verde: The art that escaped from the caves”) will be exhibited in Lascaux – Centre International de l’Art Pariétal, promoted by the Côa Park Foundation and the Junta de Castilla y Léon, in partnership with the Conseil Départemental de la Dordogne-Périgueux.

We could not begin in a better way the celebration of the 21st anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage seal for the Côa Valley and Siega Verde prehistoric rock art sites (1998, 2010). The inauguration of the exhibition is part of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the inscription on the World Heritage List «Prehistoric Sites and Grottes Ornées de la Vallée de la Vézère», during which the international conference “Les Biens UNESCO de la Prehistoire et leur integration of the territoires” will also take place.
