The Côa rock art visits Russia

The exhibition “Petroglyphs of Lake Onega (Russia) and petroglyphs of the Côa Valley (Portugal): search for new forms of photographic documentation” was inaugurated on October 15 at Petrozavodsk State University, Republic of Karelia, Russia. This exhibition features 25 photos of the archaeologist of the Côa Park Foundation Mário Reis and the results of the July expedition from Petrozavodsk University to Lake Onega.

On the 16th, a roundtable discussion was held about the documentation problems of ancient petroglyphs. The exhibition “Petroglyphs of the Côa Valley (Portugal)”, bringing together 49 photos of Mario Reis, will then be inaugurated at the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy. of Sciences in Moscow on 27 November, as part of the international conference “Signs and Images in Stone Age Art“.
