The Côa Valley concluded its participation in the New 7 Wonders of Portugal after a journey lasting around three months, from May to August 2026. Competing in the Tourism category, it reached the Central Region Final, held on 15 August at Curia Thermal Park in Anadia.

This journey was marked by the involvement of the community and various institutions in celebrating the territory’s heritage, landscape and identity. The collective efforts of everyone who voted, promoted and supported the candidacy helped raise awareness of the Côa Valley’s historical and cultural wealth.

With this stage now complete, the commitment to celebrating and showcasing the Côa Valley continues — a territory whose significance extends beyond any accolade, thanks to its history, its landscape and its connection to its people.
