We close 2019 with the 10th Contemporary Art Exhibition of Inspiration Vaccea – VacceArte, sponsored by the Federico Wattenberg Vacceo Study Center (Universidad de Valladolid) which, since 2008, has sought to offer an artistic and multidisciplinary interpretation of the cultural legacy of the Vaccei, an Iron Age people who were the first to settle in the center of the Valle del Duero, remaining there until its absorption by the Romans.
Subordinate to the theme “Excision in chiaroscuro: lights and shadows. Archeology, Ethnography and Art ”, this tenth and last edition of a far-reaching cultural initiative, keeping with its cultural and scientific vocation, continues to pursue precisely the same purposes we have assumed from the beginning at the Côa Museum: to challenge the artistic community and the general public to promote dialogue between prehistoric art and contemporary art, exploring and interpreting more or less expressive, sensory or transcendental aesthetic and symbolic languages.
