III Côa Symposium – Climate Change and Human Adaptation: The Transition from the Pleistocene to the Holocene
December 5 @ 9:00 am - December 6 @ 5:30 pm
The 3rd edition of the Côa Symposium will take place on December 5th and 6th, under the theme “Climate Change and Human Adaptation: The Transition from the Pleistocene to the Holocene.” This is a highly relevant topic, and the studies conducted in the Côa Valley can provide valuable contributions to the ongoing discussion.
Since its inception in 2018, the Côa Symposium has aimed to present and discuss archaeological research topics, focusing on the art and archaeology of the Côa Valley, while contextualizing this valuable heritage within European scientific research.
The 3rd edition will feature over 30 researchers from Portugal, Spain, and France, who will address three main subthemes: Paleoenvironment, Rock Art, and Human Occupation.
The event is organized by the Côa Parque Foundation, UNIARQ – Center for Archaeology of the University of Lisbon, the Portuguese Archaeological Association, ACÔA – Friends of the Côa Park and Museum, with the support of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
