Ant\u00f3nio Faria at the C\u00f4a Museum, a partnership with the National Museum of Contemporary Art<\/p>\n

From 6th of June until 31st of June, the C\u00f4a Park Foundation, in partnership with the National Museum of Contemporary Art (Museu Nacional de Arte Contempor\u00e2nea – MNAC), promotes the exhibition by the artist Ant\u00f3nio Faria, Drawing, the force that born from silence ( “O Desenho, a for\u00e7a que nasce do silencio”), curated by Emilia Ferreira, directress of MNAC.<\/p>\n

In the large temporary exhibition rooms in C\u00f4a Museum, the artist Ant\u00f3nio Faria presents a series of recent works on paper. The generous scale of the space allows the exhibition of works of large formats, which involve us completely and which seem almost capable of, as the artist says, \u201cswallowing a person\u201d. However, we should not worry. The sensation that we experience in the encounter with these drawings is not threatening, but benevolent.<\/p>\n

Ant\u00f3nio Faria (Lisbon, 1966) started early to project the force of the wind, movement and action into images. Some of his works, which are modular composition, are made in parts, but constitute a single drawing, a single idea. The totality perception only happens when they are exposed together, giving the idea of \u200b\u200ba broad, immersive record.<\/p>\n

In these landscapes, the artist explores the melancholy and feeling of a closed space, using Nature to represent it in a purely emotional way, we feel ourselves diving into the forest. The space of the work confused with our imagination. Let yourself be lost among the foliage.<\/p>\n
