TExTOUR – Social Innovation and Technologies for Sustainable Growth through Participatory Cultural Tourism.

The first online meeting of the European project TExTOUR took place on 28 January, which is intended to develop cultural tourism politics and strategies that generate a positive impact on territorial socioeconomic development. To do so, it will use ICT and social innovation tools , with which it will work on 8 cultural tourism pilots in little known areas.

The results will be used to prepare a modular and scalable EU Action Plan for the Development of Cultural Tourism; and to design a technological platform to evaluate cultural tourism strategies advocated by public and private actors.

The team is led by the Santa Maria la Real Foundation – Spain, which will draw on all its expertise in social innovation and cultural and sustainable tourism – such as that acquired through IMPACTOUR , another of the H2020 projects in which it participated – and is completed with 17 other entities from 11 countries. They are partners from Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Spain, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, Poland, Portugal and Ukraine.

TExTOUR will last three and a half years, from January 2021 to June 2024, and has a total budget of 3,950,468.75 euros.

The project is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Programme.
