The exhibition “Crossing Europe with Rock Art”, designed in partnership with the Gobustan National Park Preserve, was inaugurated at the Qobustan Milli Tarix-Bədii Qoruğu Museum, Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscapes (Azerbaijan). This inauguration took place at the same time when the UNESCO World Heritage Committee is meeting in Baku, the capital of the country, to evaluate new classification proposals.

The Gobustan National Park received the UNESCO seal in 2007, nine years after the historic decision that granted the same distinction to the Côa Valley (1998). The relationship between the two countries stems from their participation in the Council of Europe Cultural Routes, Prehistoric Rock Art Trails.
