Aida Carvalho is the new president of the Côa Parque Foundation

The new president of the Côa Parque Foundation – entity that manages the Côa Museum and the Archaeological Park of the Côa Valley -, Professor Aida Maria Oliveira Carvalho, officially takes office today.

“Aida Maria Oliveira Carvalho, 47, has a PhD in Cultural Science from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and a Master in History of Populations from the University of Minho. She also holds a post-graduate degree in Tourism and Religious Heritage from the Catholic University of Lisbon and a post-graduate degree in Cultural Management from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. She graduated in European Studies from the Universidade Lusófona do Porto.
Since September 2001 she has been a teacher at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) and coordinator of the Arts and Humanities Department, as well as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Tourism Marketing Master’s Degree, and a researcher at the Research, Development and Innovation in Tourism Centre. Over the years, she has published various articles in scientific journals specialising in heritage and cultural tourism.
Between 1996 and 2001, Aida Maria Oliveira Carvalho was an interpreter-guide in the Côa Valley. Over the years, she has been a privileged witness of the history and culture of this region, to which she has dedicated a large part of her professional life. It is for this reason, she will be able to dignify the work of those who so brilliantly preceded her, being now entrusted with the important role of contributing to the conservation and dissemination of this valuable place of History and Heritage, of recognized world importance.

The IPB teacher replaces Bruno Navarro, who died suddenly at the end of January, aged 43.
